Lima- Historic Plaza
Our flight back to Lima on the 2nd was delayed a bit, but that allowed us to have time for breakfast before we left. Unfortunately about 30 min after we got to the airport I realized I left all of our chocolate and one of my meds in the hotel fridge. Ugh. We had bright about 10 Utah truffle bars for our friends in Chile and we had bought another three chocolate bars from the chocolate store in Cusco. Nothing too tragic, nothing necessary, but an annoying (and expensive) bump regardless. It means that we have to buy a few more souvenirs for our Chilean friends in Lima. Oh well. Anyhow, the flight to Lima went well. By the time we arrived in Lima Ann-Marie and Dave were resting at the airport hotel. That’s where they would stay until their flight back to the US. It was so nice to have our travel buddies join us for this first part of the trip. It made for a great start. We’ve been traveling with them for the past 15 years and hope for many more.
We had a bit of difficulty getting to our place in the historic plaza part of Lima mostly because what we thought was a hotel was actually just a regular apartment right on the main square. It was actually a really cool place with an incredible view. It was interesting how different this area felt from the Miraflores area we stayed in our first night. This area felt a lot more like London or NYC.

For dinner I still was not feeling well so we just went across the street to a bar so Matt could get his Peruvian pisco sour. We just got a few snacks with it and we were good. I got something fruity of course. No sour for me.
Our apartment was in the middle of this building on the second floor. A really cool location. Wish I had been feeling better to enjoy it more.
Our flight to Chile was the next morning. So thankful to be going somewhere for more than one night. We are super tired of repacking each night. We knew this first week was going to be difficult that way, but ugh. Thankful that we have now finished the busiest week out of the six we will be here. Now here’s to hoping my stomach can handle a 3 1/2 hour flight tomorrow 🤞

Love seeing the pictures and reading about this amazing adventure! Just sorry you weren't feeling so well, Lindy.
